Dr Amy Mellor has worked in private practice in Brisbane since 2009, previously providing obstetric care at Arrivals Obstetric Centre and gynaecological services through Eve Health.

In 2017, Amy co-founded 'Castner Mellor Obstetrics & Gynaecology' with Dr Megan Castner, located in the Salmon Building within the Mater Hospital complex.  Amy also runs a public Adolescent Gynaecology service through the Mater Young Adult Health Centre.

Amy obtained her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1998. She started working in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2000, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 2009.  During her training, Amy worked at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital, as well as women’s health units in Adelaide, Nambour, Toowoomba, the QEII Hospital and Perth.  In 2006, she was awarded the Gold Medal for the RANZCOG fellowship exams.  

In 2013, Amy took a year away from private practice to undertake a fellowship in Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.  In 2016 she was awarded fellowship of the International Federation of Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology in Florence, Italy.
